Subscribing to Our BOOK of the month club keeps the prize flourishing
How does it work?
Once subscribed, you will receive a small press book delivered straight to your door, every single month. The books are generously donated by presses in the UK and Ireland. Most of the time they will be newly published, sometimes we even send them to you in advance of publication.
Why join Book of the Month?
We’re passionate about the small press community. That’s why we run this book club for interested readers, with books donated generously by the publishers themselves. While we rely on funding from our sponsors for the prize’s life and longevity, we are grateful for the additional support of our book club members. Subscribers are integral to our success and that of our beloved small presses.

How much does it cost?
The Book of the Month club is just £15 per month, plus shipping. (Or the equivalent in your currency.)

Support the prize!
The ease of monthly book deliveries. New reading material is consistently on your doorstep - potentially saving you time and money.
Unusual titles. Small presses often publish underrepresented authors, translated texts, innovative literary styles, etc. As a subscriber, you can expect greater exposure to interesting contemporary literature.
Special access. Some Book of the Month books have not been published yet. You will also receive invites to RofC events, etc.
Customisable experience. Want to swap April’s book? We will send you a previous Book of the Month or any of our longlists. Just email us to request the change.

You’ll be charged at the beginning of the month, and the books will be sent out in the middle of each month.
While we do occasionally face logistical problems, in this case, we will update you and make sure that the books reach you as soon as possible.

Yes - we encourage it! You can find all of the info here. Just let us know, then we will write them a note with the first delivery to say that you thought of them, or to celebrate any occasion.

They will be delivered in the even months - i.e. February, April, June. Please do reach out with any questions on titles or deliveries.

If you, for any reason, want to skip a particular month’s Book of the Month, you can customise your delivery. To do so, pick a title from any of our past longlists or Books of the Month.
